Vermont sounds beautiful! Strange, but I've never been there, guess the opportunity just never arose as we usually head south to the Florida Keys. I love the idea of being cut off from the Internet with limited television. Sounds like a good place to read a book and connect with nature. Then again, if my kids weren't there, I would be worried something would happen and they couldn't get a hold of me (this is new since Dillon's accident in June, I worry way too much.) Your husband must have been the last hold out on the cell phone LOL. It does sound neat watching someone learn all the ins and outs of cell phones and what they can do but those roaming charges are terrible! Too funny. I'm sorry to hear your mother-in-law is afraid to make the drive herself now, but then again, who wants to drive that distance alone. I think your idea of spending a week there with her is very nice, what a great daughter-in-law. That pain you describe under your rib cage is common for me. I get that a lot, not sure why but I do. I thought it might have something to do with the hernia or distasis. I don't think that's the case for you, I think it was just a lot of sitting in one position driving. I'm just glad it went away for you.
My big news, I'm one pound to my personal goal! I'm very excited about this. I thought it might be today but it wasn't. Today I actually got sick earlier, not sure what it was, but I had severe pains in my stomach and ended up going to the bathroom several times (much more than usual.) Sorry if this is TMI! I was sweating and felt awful. After going to the bathroom several times, I laid down, slept for about an hour, and just woke up about 30 minutes ago and now feel fine. I'm so glad because I have a tennis match at 5:00. How very odd, not sure if I ate something yesterday on Memorial Day that really disagreed with me or what that was.
Tennis continues to be on the forefront with me. I love it, I just love being out there on the court and able to run for shots I never could even think of before. I'm playing doubles and singles (which I never did before) and I'm just having so much fun. As a matter of fact when I think of having surgery for my hernia and distasis, I think, "No, I don't want to miss tennis for all those weeks of recovery!" It is definitely the exercise for me.
NYB, I need to take that advice. I stay away from carbs and really limit myself. Then again, I don't want a repeat of what happened earlier today which I think may have been because I had more than my usual carbs yesterday.
We did remember our veterans yesterday. That would include my husband who served seven years, my dad, my uncle, my cousin, and many other family members. I liked reading the messages everyone was posting on Facebook in thanks to our veterans. It was also my older son's birthday so I chose to write a message about that.
Enjoy your week everyone,
Kelly
